​ABOUT APIA

THE COMMUNITY


The Apia community here is living with ricefields and rootcrops as source of their food. They are working as farmers, vegetable and fruit seller or as a charcoal maker. Their source of electricity is the generator which only the resident who can afford to  pay for the usage of it, only the daytime. This place is mountainous. Spring water from the mountain is the only source of clean water and you can use for washing clothes. Aklanon is their dialect in this community, but they can speak and understand Tagalog as our common use in communicating others.

 
TRANSPORTATION


From Cogeo Village Gate 2, take a Jeep with signed "PAENAAN" to reach Veterans, the distance is approximately 12.60 kilometers. 

Take a tricycle from Veterans to the main gate of WELCOME TO BRGY. CALAWIS, and another tricycle to ROTONDA. For two commutes of tricycle, it takes approximately 9.70 kilometers in 30 minutes. 

Walking distance from ROTONDA to our school, CALAWIS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL - APIA EXTENSION for 3.30 kilometers in 60-80 minutes.

 

 

TELECOMMUNICATION


Since our place is mountainous, its hard to receive and send messages, even to call, because of very weak signal so you need to search a network signal to make a call or send message.
